SD Soccer Community Path Forward
/Kids 1st Campaign
SDSC was happy to be one of six SD clubs to contribute data to a White Paper study prepared and issued by a local youth soccer organization. The San Diego soccer community is calling upon its clubs and families to continue to support these efforts within the Kids 1st Campaign. The goal of the campaign is to prioritize the mental and physical health of our kids as we battle through COVID-19. It will focus on collecting more data, outside of the initial six clubs participating, on the safety of outdoor sports, driving awareness of the facts and creating a road map in California for the safe return to the sports we love.

The White Paper study is one of the first primary studies on youth sports and it has generated interest from media, politicians and youth sports organizations across the country (LA Times, San Diego Union Tribune). We have an opportunity to capture the momentum to expand the study and provide youth specific data to the Governor.
Our priority at San Diego SC has been and will continue to be the physical, mental and emotional health of our players and families. We are proud of the implementation of our safety protocols and the work our coaches and players have put in throughout the past five months of zooms, modified trainings, clinics and camps. In addition, we are excited to offer special programming to our Recreational players in RB and PQ starting in September. We look forward to being a leader in the creation of the next steps forward as we use our voices to drive research and create the best path for soccer programming and return to play of the sport we all love.
Thank you,
