G2003 Navy Accepted to National League

The G2003 Academy Navy has been selected by US Youth Soccer to play in US Youth Soccer’s National League.
This is a great accomplishment for these girls. Playing in the National League gives the team an opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the country and if they place high enough, qualify for the National Championships next summer without having to win the CalSouth National Cup or Far West Regionals.
In National League the girls will travel to North Carolina in late November to play 4 games and then to Las Vegas in March for 3 more games. Both of these events are highly scouted by college coaches. This past year saw schools from such conferences as the Big 12, Pac 12, SEC, Ivy League, Mountain West and many others attend their games. So for the girls, the exposure to good competition in front of college coaches gives the kids a great opportunity to show what they can do.
“These girls do a tremendous job of representing SDSC whenever they travel. They have built a name not only for themselves but for the rest of the club as well. Competing well at these events opens up doors not only for this team, but for other girls teams in the club as well.” said Director of Coaching for Younger Girls, Pete Stogsdill.

48 teams to earn direct path to 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships
39 of 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations represented
FRISCO, Texas (Aug. 3, 2018) — US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the teams that have earned their place for the 2018-19 season of the expanded US Youth Soccer National League, the national tier of play for its Leagues Program. The National League, entering its 12th season, is home to the nation’s top 14U through 19U Boys and Girls soccer teams, with each team having an individual proven track record of continued success in US Youth Soccer programs.
The National League’s alumni have gone on to prove themselves at the collegiate and professional levels, with former players competing in NCAA Division I, II and III, Major League Soccer, National Women’s Soccer League, the UEFA Champions League, the Olympics and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Some National League alumni who have appeared for the U.S. Men's National Team include Jordan Morris and Walker Zimmerman, while Morgan Brian, Rose Lavelle, Samantha Mewis and Emily Sonnett have appeared for the U.S. Women's National Team.
