Join us for our Opening Day 3v3 Opening Day at Rancho Bernardo Community Fields!

This is a day of fun and celebration for everyone in the club! You can look forward to competitive 3v3 games throughout the day, supporting your fellow teams’ fundraising booths, a uniform/costume contest with prizes, plus a fan-favorite - the Coaches Game!

Teams and players from SDSC, PQ Rec, RB Rec, and TOPSoccer are welcome to participate. This event is a day of fun and relaxation with family, friends and teammates!

3v3 Tournament Rules

  1. Playing field is 40 yards x 30 yards

  2. The goals are 3’h x 6’w, with no goalkeepers. Goal box is 10’w x 4’d.

  3. The ball must completely cross the goal line to score a goal.

  4. A ball that comes to rest in the goal box is a dead ball and will result in a kick-in by the defending team.

  5. All scoring must be made from the scoring team’s offensive half of the field.

  6. Shin guards are mandatory.

  7. All players must wear jersey/shirts during play and each team must have a light and dark color.

  8. All free kicks and kick-ins are indirect.

  9. No player may enter the goal box to defend. If a defensive player touches the ball in the goal box (even inadvertently), a penalty kick will be awarded. If the offensive team touches the ball within the offensive goal box, a free kick will be awarded to the defensive team.

  10. The game consists of two 12-minute halves separated by a 2-minute halftime period OR the first team to reach. 12 goals, whichever comes first. No timeouts! Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals if tied after regulation play will have a 3-minute sudden death period. If still tied, the game will go to penalty kicks.

  11. No offsides.

  12. All teams will us a size 4 ball.

  13. No slide tackling is allowed. (This does not prevent players from sliding to stop/intercept a ball, but NO CONTACT can be made with opposing players while sliding for the ball.)

  14. Free substitutions are allowed at anytime from the halfway line.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE. ALL TEAMS ARE GUARANTEED 3 GAMES. Championship t-shirts to the first place teams.

Point System:
Win – 3 points, Tie – 1 point, Loss – 0 points, Forfeit – 3 points
Tie Breakers: Head to Head, Goals Allowed, Goals Scored, Penalty Kicks
